interesting considering I just had to do a fresh install and was downloaded and installed in less then 20 minutes. This is your isp's issue not the game or steam. If slow downloads trigger you this much maybe don't game on your garbage connection. Keep your toxic comments for twitter where they belong.

Right click guild wars 2 shortcut - click properties - you should now be in the shortcut tab.
Add the following into the target field after the install location:
-image -assetsrv 54.84.216.160 -patchconnections 20
Target should now look similar to this : "E:\GW2\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe" -image -assetsrv 54.84.216.160 -patchconnections 20
This should fix the slow download issue most people are struggling with.
