If you want newer graphics, play a newer game.
Your point of view is not only limited, it is unrealistic, and isn't taking into account various other factors. For example, better graphics need stronger hardware to render them, limiting who can play the game. It also takes a lot of money and time to make, which I would much rather they spent on other more useful things.
WoW's later expansions look really good if we are to be honest. Tech and art style wise. You have to compare now and not the old zones. WoW has a lot higher environment quality graphics than GW2 does, more advanced tech too. GW2 wins out in animation quality on characters and mounts but suffers from blurry textures and limited options.
Be happy with what you got.
That said, I wouldn't be against a graphics upgrade even though I think the game looks fine as is, at least at native 4k.
The game doesn't even have to be at 4K to look great!
