So many items
Why do we have so many items in this game? Most of them are just to make you buy more bag slots. This is one of the motives that made me quit the game.

Any and every MMO does this. Let me break it down the items you may be getting.

*sips coffee*

Top right side of your inventory is a nifty button that allows you to deposit all crafting materials you looted right into your material storage in your bank without needing to go into your bank.

Gear that you get that is worthless, you can buy yourself a Salvage kit from most regular coin merchants for cheap to then dismantle the items into useful materials and luck. You can consume the luck to increase your Magic Find and deposit all other materials as I mentioned prior. You will be cycling through your gear pretty regularly as you level up, so no need to hoard it. Once you hit level 80, only gear worth keeping will be exotics which are very easy to obtain.

Items that are labeled grey are Trash Trophies. Their only value is selling them at a merchant for some coin. You will encounter a lot of those types of trophies some of which go for 1 gold in value, and rarely you can find some worth 5-10 gold (mainly tied to event related content). You can go to ANY merchant, sell tab, then click Sell Junk to immediately get rid of all of the worthless trophies you have. And do not worry. Selling junk never gets rid of special trophy items that have value (such as in crafting recipes).

You may find getting lots of random items overwhelming. But like every MMO, items do have a groove and it is best to slowly take your time figuring things out. If you try to rush though things, you will give yourself whiplash.

Store mats, salvage blues, sell greens at merchants, sell yellow/oranges at TP.
most of the items are designed for getting materials to craft better gear. Unless you're f2p you generally won't experience inventory issues unless you hoard everything.

It makes things way more "comfortable" when you have all 32 slot bags.
You can also use alts to store materials and-what-not.

The game has an achievement that rewards you with one, you will also get the recipe to make more.

Here is more info on how to get it:

So you quit the game and then come to play the forums?
Sounds about right.

Forum Wars is a form of PVP. :cozyprodman:

Also @OP, there's literally salvaging guides on youtube for people like you.
I suggest tearing yourself away from tictocs for half an hour and search some of them out on youtube.

Thank you for the tips =)

Feature bloat. If you were there from the very beginning it wouldn't have been that bad, but as the game went on new currencies were slowly introduced till the point we have the mess that fills our bags up today.
And I agree with you that it is a problem. I'm a vet of the game who's been playing for 7 years at this point and there are times I get very sick of 50 or so Eyes of Kormirr or something as useless finding their way into my bags after I finish an event or 2.

Feature bloat? Maybe. I think it's the natural progression of a game that has been going on for so long.
We didn't have this many items in the beginning, but we also didn't have 32-slot bags, Shared Inventory, Bank Tab Expansions, Storage Expanders or the recently added extra 2 bag slots.

ESO does not have such problem like in Guild Wars 2. I wish Guild Wars 2 would get rid of many items.

No reason to necro a half year old thread if there's a current thread about the same topic.
You can craft more inventory space or use some extra characters as banks to store stuff.

the only problem i have is that items that can be stored in the material "bag" should be automatically moved there ... but noooo , it will clutter the inventory for no reason (and the bag window is useless because no option to enlarge it
