You can’t use gem cards if you play through Steam, they sometimes go on sale on Amazon. Not sure if that’s a down side or not.

3rd party transactions can have issues. I prefer to go directly through Arena.net.

After buying the expansion... I don't want to spend any more money on game... And I don't want to pay the 90€ (70 in sale) for complete version with living world. For now I just want to buy The first two expansions ... With my steam money which I get from selling skins ... So I would spend "no money"...

Living world should be buy able with in-game gold ? But how much ?

Arenanet. Much smoother transactions with no limitations.

You can buy gems with in-game money, the price fluctuates over time. Right now, as I'm posting this, 400 gems cost about 130 gold plus change. To buy all the living world content will cost 4160 gems, since the gems can only be bought in-game at increments of 400, it would cost 1,430 gold to buy all the gems needed to get all the living world content unlocked right now today.

You can buy 1 gem at a time if you wish. Just click the "custom exchange" or whatever button.

I'd never noticed that button.

Ok, so 4160 gems would cost 1367 gold, 63 silver, and 1 copper.

Still, for me, I feel like the effort to get that much is more than I care to expend.

especially because Living World takes place between expansions and if you don't play them in order with the expansions your gonna be very confused about the plot

As an original ArenaNET beta tester (August, 2012) I can confirm that there is no difference whatsoever between the ArenaNET version and the Steam version. Fact is, you can log in on either platformer/launcher and join your buddies in the same world with no restrictions as megaservers owned by the company don't care if you are on one platform or another. The only exception to this is GW2 on Apple machines that has ceased to exist as it was not proving as popular.
