Steam Complete Collection Living world seasons missing
Hi all, I purchased the complete collection and it gave me all 3 DLCs (can see in my steam library). However, when I go into my Story Journal it requires me to use gems to buy the seasons. I checked my gem count too and it says zero. Any ideas?

Did the 3 expansion unlocked in the game too? If those are locked yet too then maybe it just take some time to the purchases to go through.
If those are unlocked I'd contact the steam support.

The other expansions are unlocked which is the strange part. I didn't notice the living seasons weren't unlocked until my friend asked to do one of the seasons. Thought I might be missing something but all my DLCs are enabled. I'll contact steam thanks!

I had a similar experience and am equally confused about it. You would think that paying for the expansions would automatically unlock the ability to play chapters. Perhaps you should contact customer support at ArenaNET to find out why you're being charged additional gem fees for something that you have already paid for with real world money. I certainly intend to do this.

Living World to my knowledge are in game purchases they do not come with the complete game, you probably don't have "icebrood saga" storyline unlocked either.

They were never released by ArenaNet as part of the main 3 addons, they where added as seasons in stages between the adds of HoT, PoF and End of Dragons.

I believe OP bought the complete edition, which according to the steam page, contains all expansions and living world

i don't think any pack contains the Living World, but i could be wrong. I know it says it on the description, but it could be a mis sell from Steam.

I wonder if they give you crystals to purchase the living world through the game itself. As you are right it does say it contains the Living Seasons. I checked the Ultimate Edition on the ArenaNet website, which doesn;t include the Living World storyline's, however they do give you 4k of crystals instead.

I can verify that the complete collection includes living world.

Did you select the living world season in your story journal and start the first chapter? You have to click on the first chapter for each season and click the button for starting it. This will pause your progress on whatever other personal story you have active and begin the living world content. You have to play through the content to unlock all of the features of that season; it doesn't just automatically make everything available.

I just brought up the same subject and have written to ArenaNet about it. All they want me to do is pay more real world money to purchase upgrades - this is illegal activity and they should be reported as you paid perfectly good money for a product that isn't as advertized. ArenaNet are very vague about this when you report it to them ... and if that wasn't sufficient to make you mad, they have also removed all accessories from the black lion so now if you want to purchase them you have to go to a karma merchant and pay additional FIFTY ECTOPLASM on top just to get these items!

I've supported the company for a decade, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. Bought complete edition, got acces to HoT and PoF expansions (haven't checked EoD yet) but all Living World episodes are locked. Do you have to finish the main story first to unlock them or is there a timer on them, just like with the auction house? Seems very weird to me in either case.

I only noticed they were unavailable when I used the level 80 boost to join my friend in one of the Living World stories to start gathering materials for pink equipment. There's still a lot to do and discover but can't help but feel disappointed that one of the key features of the complete edition (which was a LOT more expensive then the $15,- HoT + PoF edition) is simply not working. Will opt for a refund if support is unable to resolve the issue in a timely fashion.

the living world stuff was all released as "FLC" that became DLC if u've not been playing during the time these things been released.

hence, they don't really belong towards the PoF/HoT things and likely cannot be counted towards a "full" collection that is sellable

it's a bit confusing for new players, but tbh in the end u won't need these anyways.

the best deal for new players is still the 15~ € HoT+PoF. those are the better expansions. EoD is just overpriced fluff.

To quote the product page for the complete edition:

The Complete Guild Wars 2 Collection includes the Guild Wars 2 Base Game and all three expansions: Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons, Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, and Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. You'll also receive 5 Living World seasons to continue with your journey between the expansions.

*The Living World DLC (Seasons 2-5) is non-refundable and cannot be purchased on Steam separately. Living World episodes become playable at level 80.

end quote.

It clearly states that the 5 Living World seasons are part of the bundle, which will become playable at level 80. I have used one of the level 80 boosts to jump straight into said Living World seasons and was unpleasantly surprised by them being locked and only available for gems.

The whole point of getting the complete edition instead of the HoT + PoF edition was to be able to play the Living World seasons, since they are not available for purchase separately outside of this bundle on steam. As it stands now, I've paid 39.99 extra and got nothing to show for it.

Yeah, like others wrote, just ask the support, from what I saw from other threads they should be able to solve your issue. And I mean the GW2 support, I don't think Steam can do much about that.
Dwedge Dec 29, 2022 @ 8:44am
I can confirm that contacting GW2 support directly will get things fixed asap, be sure to include your steam ID and username it provides when you log into support via steam, add some screenshots of whats missing and they'll contact you back, let you know they confirmed you should have it and will add it for the next log in.

I got it all sorted in a few hours, absolutely worth sending the single email it takes.
