"where people focus their endgame time in "
Vets still do stuff even in starting zones for many things . Festivals , map complete , legendries , farming , guild missions , racing , story , dailys , dungeons , side story events , collections , achievements , world bosses ......
And the game is growing last expansion sold more then the previous one , and I see new players in starting zones , expansion maps , dungeons , fractals , wvw ...
For now they are working on bringing back the season 1 content and next bits of story in the long term game had enough sales to fund next expansion development .
As for gw3 it would take years like 2x or more times compared to expansion so 4-6 years .
Core game = the bit that me and many others paid for 10 years ago is now f2p its not dead because people still run those maps daily for all kinds of stuff . Legendries , map complete , guild missions , collections , races , festivals , story , events , world bosses , achievements metas , farming , fishing , dungeons .....
The game has a big world but its interconnected expansions did not make core game or any of the older content useless.
And as others have already stated - it might not be the newest content, but GW2 approaches the whole open world in a way that everything stays relevant. Sure, there are some more and less popular maps, but you are rarely completely alone. Make use of the map chat if you need some help with stuff.
And especially with the steam release I guess you will see some other people taking a shortcut to these mounts and playing the same content.
Hot and Pof had years to improve . You are forgetting or you just have not played the content when it was fresh . Meta events got buffed with rewards new stuff got added . Same will probably happen with Eod Stuff .
And as for why they added stuff for new people Eod is selling as a separate new thing . While Hot and Pof are combined up . They probably saw a decent chunk of new players in recent times and decided to add some small things that might help guide them along .
And they did do similar things to core game . They added colections with rewards for exploring starting maps , they changed some of the world bosses and given them new skins , they added mounts after lvl 10 to any account that has any expansion , improved on some of the preset settings ,
So i see no reason for them to try to do better with new releases and then slowly over time do similar stuff with older things .
Oh no my apology for not being specific, i wasn't comment on how useful the specs are but the coolest here is the way they were designed. Its more about Anime stuffs, cuz you know...mech and quick-drawn stuffs like that.
The comment that it is old content that nobody plays is laughable to anyone that actually plays this game....but hey, don't let those of us actually playing the game get in the way of your assumption about it. Clearly, we have no knowledge of what we speak, especially compared to you or others that haven't even played the game.
Because they didn't exist in the game for quite a few years.
Also, I believe the Raptor is going to be accessible, atleast temporarily, at lvl 10 no matter if you have the expansions or not.
Also also, I have yet to get any of the flying mounts yet, and leveled a new character to lvl 80 on the OG content with no mount (aside from Raptor) and has a blast.
Yeah, it's separate because it's new, and it's new because it's part four of the story (if you count living seasons, it's part NINE). Who starts out buying part four? That's even besides that it costs more and offers less than the discount bundle of parts 2 & 3. It's just sad/weird self-sabotaging optimism--and tacit admission they lost so many people while they were corporately screwing around before EoD that people might benefit from a reintroduction to the game if they come back...
