Hmm and the turtle maybe? i mean the turtle was released with EoD and i didn't know you could get a raptor and bunny with EoD.
IMO you should buy the path of fire+heart of thorns 1st, you can pay 29 bucks (current official price at anet website, it may change with steam release) and get both Path of fire and Heart of thorns.
If you want to spend any money at all on the game, absolutely buy HoT/PoF as the most essential. People played 9 years without EoD. You will have a long time playing before you will even feel the need to get it unless you are hopelessly in love with fishing.
I agree, people will say that some still do those contents, while it may be true, it's not where the action is or where people focus their endgame time in, you'll only see other players who are late to the party doing that kind of stuff.
They need to move on to GW3 or revamp a lot of their game systems and overall experience in order to keep gw2 growing..
That's paying half as much for more than double the value. You still see plenty of people doing things outside End of Dragons, especially if Steam brings in a bunch of new players, and there are mechanics that will make random parts a lot more active, like when an area is chosen for the daily event zone and you find piles of players there doing activities, either to get dailies or just because they know more people will be around to help/participate.
Get EoD later when it's both cheaper and you have more reason to care about it.
Again Chronos, you have no idea what are you talking about, did you ever played this game more than a few days? maybe you just watched some random youtube videos or a twitch streamer and thought it was enough to judge gw2? seriously, next christmas if im allowed (regional locks) i'll gift you the game then you can properly spit on it.
Vanilla content and previous expansions still alive, this "dated" content is played by thousands every freakin day and you guys would know that if you actually played the game. They have to see how tequalt, karka queen, octovine and more "dated" content is packed with players but hey go ahead, keep up with the misinformation.
Yeah i mean, i don't know why some think i'ts ok to go around telling lies, if that's what happens in final fantasy, BSO or WoW it doesn't mean is the same here in GW2.
+ All 3 expansions has their own unique features
- Heart of Thorn which is the very first xpack offers Gliding and minor movement skills which isn't that important, also the introduce you to most of Raid instances. This one can be considered Hardcore due to the maps, meta events design.
- Part of Fire, the second xpack also the most popular and beloved one due to Mounts. This one offers you 4 basic mounts, a hidden griffon mount plus the racing mount and the ultimate flying mount both required Living World which you can farm gold and buy each episodes. This expansion is very casual friendly for tho who don't have much time to play and Part of Fire also has most of the best Elite Specialaztion in game. I strongly recommend this expansion.
- End of Dragon is the last and newest xpack, it offers very little except nice landscapes and 2 seats turtle mount. This xpack was designed for new players to get used to the game, although EoD is behind PoF and HoT it grants you access to many of the coolest Elite Specialization like Mech and Samurai style warrior.
+ The Contents
- The most common misunderstanding new players have are dated contents will be empty or less popular etc. This statement is EXTREMELY WRONG, although its been 10 years you will find players running around in almost every corners of the world and THIS IS HOW THE GAME WAS DESIGNED, to not leave old contents behind like many other mmos on the market. I guarantee you will have fun even with just one expansion.
- There is absolute no Pay to Win in this game, if someone tells you having all expansions will give you benefits in PvP or anywhere else THEY ARE IDIOTS. The game is very heavy on skill based, having one expansion is enough to get you on a streak, even with core specialization can be deadly if you play it right.
