How is the game?

Title. I did play a bit back in the day, but it didn't hold my attention enough, and I was hooked on Warframe, so I uninstalled and deleted my previous account.

The game is incredible. In my opinion probably the best MMO out there (I also like WoW and ESO) but for some reason GW2 feels the "nicest" to play.

Only thing I personally don't like about it is the level scaling, so that it never feels like you're actually getting stronger. Otherwise a pretty solid MMO. Good music especially.

Level scaling is only for the areas under max level, which are not the vast majority of the game (leveling phase is pretty much 10 to 15% of the game even when talking about the story campaign).
It's actually fair to say that the game doesn't really have levels, it's your build that does everything.

Then there is the mastery system, where while it doesn't translate to raw power, does make your character better in certain areas.

Depends on what you want out of it. If you're wanting an MMO that's heavily focused on raiding then you probably won't like it (lack of a gear treadmill, no holy trinity, raiding content has a very inconsistent release schedule), but if you're wanting an MMO that you can jump in and out of on the side then it's probably the best MMO on the market for that. Has no gear treadmill, has one of the best gameplay-driven open world experiences in the genre, the classes are unique and flexible, combat is fun and fluid, character building is fairly rich and deep (especially in PvP/WvW), and it has the best mounts in the genre, hands down.

Game is at a very healthy state currently. That is the only objective review someone can give. Otherwise it will feel incredible for the people that play it, and not good for the people that quit. Best you can do is try the f2p portion yourself and if you like it buy expansions and living world. Nothing to lose anyway.

Have more than 2 800 hours. What else can I say? This is the MMORPG I've spend the most time. Even more than WoW!

The beginner experience is pretty much the same. Maybe even worse with stories gated to every 10 levels. So if you didn't like it before you might not now.

However, I to started at the beginning and lost interest. At some point I tried again and the second time around fell in love.
My memory is fuzzy, but I recall making a Norn elementist first, then getting bored of it.
My second play through I tried a Norn engineer and liked it. Then made a human guardian and I liked it. And I wanted to try human necromancer so I had to delete the engineer. That Necro with minions became my favorite character and totally hooked me. Map explorations tumbled as I went through them. Even got an old friend to join me and we played for years.

So the tldr is try again, It's been nearly 10 years, you might be in a stage of your life where a casual mmo is fun now.

This. A lot of features found in WoW were introduced by GW2 first, only for WoW to take those features and introduce them into WoW years later. Now they're blatantly copying the same mounts with the same animations.

The game kinda good. But not for everyone thats why and
because of bad marketing this game is not populare as i whant it to be. I tryed to return to it about 3 or 4 times but i find mysalf just playing storry and sPvP for majority of my time there
