It looks so similar to all those Chinese P2W free MMOs out there. And I own the expansion.

No. The continent of Cantha was introduced into GW lore ages ago and originally was an amalgamation of Asian cultures; this was homogenized to represent mostly Korean culture exactly to not make it another Japanese or Chinese - based game.

Cantha, aka the region based on asian cultures has been part of Guild wars since 1st game and if you look at GW2 Cantha in End of Dragons it looks more Korean to me but just as Greenvidia said, its amalgamation.
