Also, waiting for the steam release of a game so you can launch it without steam? Why not just play the regular release then?
If you can trick Steam into opening the regular launcher, you can keep track of hours. That might be appealing to some people, including me.
You get to show off how many hours Guild Wars 2 takes away from your life. :p
I'm aware and I'm sure everyone else is, but granted if it's the main MMO you play, the hours will rack up anyway.
Also recently for me adding it as a non steam game still shows my friends I'm playing it but the in game steam-ui stopped working :(
To which you are going to say, yeah, but at least they let old accounts link to Steam.
To which I say, well then, maybe if GW2 was developed by Zenimax, we'd also have a "Premium Subscription" with basic conveniences, the kind GW2 already provides for F2P accounts, as well.
No, I'm not, because I don't care. Not sure why you are responding hostilely to what I said. It's just information. Information Steam users seem to want, since I've seen many looking forward to cards and achievements and whatnot.
Set the launch option in Steam to: -provider Portal
Immediately worked for me. :)
