Nah at least in Warframe you can craft some ♥♥♥♥ yourself, in GW2 almost everything comes from the shop nowadays so it's either swiping time or grind gold to gems at terrible exchange rates till your eyes bleed.

Nah, I've only bought 1 helmet and 1 shoulder piece from the store over 9 years in terms of skins. I have 12 characters with 2 sets of differently transmogged gear that all look cool and unique. Plenty of skins in game to earn normally, just gotta earn em.

You don't have to spend any real money for COSMETIC ITEMS if you don't want to!
Grinding in-game gold has become also relatively easy with latest expansions!

Also by simply playing game and doing achievements you can get awesome rewards - epic looking armors, weapons etc.!

Tons and tons and tons of in-game skins in the achievement collections. A lot of skins are tied to certain maps then you use the map currency to buy the recipe's to craft.

Good example is Bjora in Icebrood. The weapons aren't the shiniest, but you get a 32 slot bag and other rewards for the collection as well. You use the ice crystal currency to buy the recipes and then you get ingots from the meta events (until you can craft your own). And at the end of it you got a fancy new set of weapons, a 32 slot bag, some other goodies, and a part for a gen 1 legendary item!

I think there is a video by Mukluk or Mighty Teapot tallying the skins you can get by playing the game against the skins you can buy from the gem store. The overwhelming majority can be earned in game. Some people's views are just skewed by their opinion on the appeal of these skins.

I find the gem shop skins are the ones with fancy textures and all these particle effects and stuff. People like flashy lights.

The in-game skins are all more "appropriate" for the setting and art style of the game but they aren't as flashy looking. Especially each expansion having a few of its own themed sets for each armor class that fit the lore/zones you're in.

This... the true fashion end game is in FFXIV. I heard all the hype about skins in this game but have been mildly disappointed so far. Still enjoying the game though.

Ff14 glamour system is awful and feels outdated, compared to gw2 wardrobe system. But yea the fashion choice/option is superior on ff14
