Am I not able to change worlds even if I don't have a character? Or just to create a character in another world? That's super weird ngl

NA and EU are the 2 mega servers of the game. The only thing that matters with separate worlds is that they are tied to WvW content. If you don't want to dish out the money for switching to another world you can just go on another world as a "guest" and have that status of 24 hours before switching, but it doesn't really matter much in open world PvE. It's not like Channel switching like in BDO or (rip) Tera.

But I played this game a few years ago, and deleting all my characters would allow me to swap worlds, but yeah, all I wanted was to play with my friends, since the server I first joined is full now :/

All servers within the same region, as long it is not WvW, are now interconnected.

You can play with your friends no matter which Home server you've chosen, as long as you and your friends are in the same region (EU or US).

When it comes to Trading Post, Gem-Gold exchange rate, Mail (and sending items via mail), both NA and EU are interconnected.

Guilds and guild memberships are also cross-region, even the Party feature is cross-region. The only restriction is that you can never meet anyone from a different region, even if you are in the same part and/or guild. “Teleport to Friend” will not work either. And of course, you also can not meet in WvW. PvP … that one I'm not sure
