not like it matters much for me personally since i plan to get at least PoF/HoT, but that kinda sucks.

Not really? They can still buy some stuff from the trading post, they can craft ascended and legendaries, at worst there doesn't seem to be a cap to the gold you can carry as F2P, so you can just keep it around for if you upgrade later. Buying gems is certainly relevant, but hardly the main use for gold in the game.

I sadly don't know the exact limitations for the trading post, but you at least can still buy all basic crafting materials, so you easily can use your gold to level up your craftign professions to lvl 500 and then craft ascended equipment. That alone wil probably already take quite a while. And once you have ascended gear you probably know ifyou like the game enough to actually buy an expansion or if you don't like it so you can drop it.

You can buy all the important stuff, like bags and most important crafting materials and craftable gear, so it should be totally enough for free2play players needs.

No, if f2p players were allowed to convert, bots would be a much bigger problem than they already are.

When it comes to most restrictions in f2p versions of MMOs, the answer to your question will mostly likely be 'bots.'

thats fair n all but it be nice to see some more options for skins n stuff available to purchase for gold rather than gems in that case. not tryna say the full package should be free, jus surprised that dam near all cool ♥♥♥♥ is locked,
