Fly mounts are ostrich on gw2

the problem is not about flying long time/high speed/high height...

if i want to go to xxx i have to go to zzz for reach a high height, first ??? really ???

i grinded the mastery and it s still crapy as hell, so the fastest way is using the fk rabbit.... it s not birds for me....

a griffon and a dragon and finaly they re.... ostrich.... so sad.

Horizontal Game Progression, trying best to not obsolete their old content.
Flying mount will not replace other mount.

If Gw2 make flying mount capable like any other mount and make other mount obsolete, they just contradicting their game concept.

Flying mount, not as fast as a raptor or beetle on ground. Skyscale will not replace Griffon, also either.

i played one year at gw2 release and then others games pushed me to stop gw2 that i was loving, (still loving the core)

with steam release, was a occasion to restart it, i still loving gw2 (specially the core) did the dlc, get mounts, master them, and i m not complaining...

played 373 hours already, still loving this game, but i think im free to tell what is my biggest disapointment about this game, and i want to warning ppl who didnt spent their cash in the s4 living worlds or 250 gold in the griffon...

This. The griffon needs high ground to start from. So if I am not yet on high ground, I either use the springer or skyscale to get to a starting point, switch to the griffon and dive down to use the speed boost. If no high ground is available I use beetle or raptor, depending on the terrain. In the end, I use each of the 9 mounts where I think it is appropriate for getting the job done.

I would hate to have the same flying as in every other MMO. It is boring and it makes you feel disconnected from the world. The way it is done here, the terrain still matters.

new player, if you think you ll be eragon, forget, stay on raptor+springer cause it s like that you ll have to play on gw2

a last word, i was waiting to find my main char and get my birds for cleaning maps of the tyria, the thing i start now,

and if you have to choose one (i talk to a new player who hesitate between s4 and 250g) i largely prefer the griffon who offer the opportunity to skip the springer often, i personaly feel him more comfortable.

Got my Griffon last night and love it.

Now just need to pound out some events/story for the Mastery XP.

Really, really undecided on a skin for it, though..
