You don't need a new computer.
If it's harddrive space you only need to buy another drive (internal or external) to add more space to your computer, not a whole new computer. Of course, this is easier with a desktop then it is with a laptop.
Multi platform games use multi platform APIs like Vulkan, OpenGL. But Apple blocks these because they want to to pay for, license, and use THEIR Metal API instead of an open one.
This of course means a lot of issues, because the game effectively has to be rewritten to support it, or have a middleware to convert it. Gw2 does use a middleware to convert DX9 to DX11 (why not Vulkan I am not sure) and convert to OpenGL.
So I assume anet just doesn't want to both pay apple for a Metal API license, and double their dev and testing for an entirely new API that could have weird issues for a small customer base.
So call up Apple, tell them to start supporting OpenGL again, and you will get a ton more games again, including GW2.
As for affording a PC. I hear you. Terrible times. Maybe a steam deck would work for you? You can even plug them into a monitor, keyboard and mouse and use like a regular computer.
Or get a geforce now subscription.
You can stream the game . And it would still be cheaper then getting a brand new pc .
GeForce now [www.nvidia.com] works on Ios and safari and it supports gw2 .
Also if you are not interested in the paid tear you can still stream it for free in 1h long sessions .
This is the answer to your problem. No need to worry about HDD space, or your graphic card. I used to play GW2 with GeForce now and it works great.
It uses WINE, which makes Windows software usable on UNIX systems like MacOS or Linux.
I couldn't run GW2 with WINE allone, so there must be some kind of other magic involved, but with Crossover, GW2 runs on a M1 Mac like a charm.
