It's pretty mandatory for Jumping Puzzles because when you do panic, you'll probably be tapping often to try and adjust yourself. Save yourself the headache the now and disable before you roll to your death.
Otherwise, I enjoy the Jumping Puzzles and when I played last time recall I always did. It's pretty fun and not overly challenging. Albeit frustrating when you mess up and have to restart.
I just wish there'd be better ways to know where they are hidden.

They are overlay pathing guides that help dramatically with jumping puzzles. The overlay literally puts 3D arrow tracks into the game that show you exactly where to go and where to jump for every puzzle and other things.
They are allowed and are not against the rules.
