Do I have to purchase the 100 dollar dlc?
In order to get living world? I was going to buy one of the expansions but it says I have to buy it in order to play the in between missions? Is that right?

You do not need Living World in order to play the expansion content nor the expansion story, but since LW takes place between each expansion they are needed if you want to follow the full story. LW1 and LW2 only include story missions. LW3,4,5 are more like mini expansions that also include additional open world content, systems and areas to explore.

Hey dude, don't buy the living world dlc off the bat. You don't need it in the beginning at all. It's a little hard to explain, just trust me on this.

The only thing I would get as a first purchase would be the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire bundle for $29.99. There's absolutely no reason to get more than that as a player whose just starting.

I have not purchased the living world episodes and have been playing since 2012.

After you spend that first $29.99, you may want to get extra quality of life improvements from the gem store....like extra inventory and bank slots. At that point, you may fork over a few more dollars, you'll know what you want only after you start playing the game.

I think I read somewhere that Living World will also be a standalone purchase at one point, both for Steam and non-Steam players.
Don't quote me on that, though.

For sure. You're gonna know what DLC and expansions you want as you play through the game.

I would just buy things piecemeal.

The reason to get the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire Bundle at level 80 is because you will unlock and increase your masteries in both your gliding and mounts in those two expansions. Both of those masteries dramatically improve you gameplay experience after level 80.

So I should hit 80 on the ftp version first or can I pull the trigger on the expansions you mentioned for a better over all experience?

If you're confident that you'll be sticking with the game in the long term then I'd grab them now. Even though they mostly offer content for max level characters, there are some benefits even for under-80 characters, namely: permanent access to the raptor mount, lifted restrictions on map chat and the trading post, 2 extra bag slots for each character for 5 in total (counting the 20-slot starter bag), 3 extra character slots for 5 in total, etc.

Does the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire package for 29.99 include gems and a level 80 character boost?

I want to say there is a boost if I get the expansion but im not sure if it meant the entire 100 dollar package. I just remember something about keeping the mount I got if I bought a expansion.

beep boop beep I am a bot beep boop beep

non sense you dont need dlc. play the game up to 80 lvl for free. If you like buy HoT/PoF for story, then eod, last living world. 10 years of content, cost 1800dollars in wow for stuff you cant play anymore. 100bucks all content is revelant and good.

Yeah, I cannot tell if any package includes level boosts and gems.

But, I would say this. For your first character, play to level 80, then buy a DLC package. Even if the DLC package has a level boost, use that level boost on your second character.

As you are leveling up to 80, check out the gem store. If you think you need more bank or inventory slots pay for the quality of life features. If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it. For my character, I bought more inventory slots because I wanted more space and it made the game more fun for me.

That said, if you must boost your character to 80, because say at level 40 or 50, you just want a mount, then get the DLC...if and only if it includes a level boost and apply it then

Nope!
If you like the game, I would absolutely recommend buying the DLC though! :)

Exactly. Play it for awhile OP and see if you like the game first. It can be overwhelming at first, so give it some playtime before making a decision.

this comment is a bit unreasonable considering you can break down everything right in the inventory and then send those materials off to the material storage. You don't NEED extensive inventory slots. That's just your own addiction. Can just buy bags in game using in game currency with alot of slots after awhile. its not even expensive really.

the base game is free. thats like easily 500-1000 hours of content without even purchasing anything.

FULL FLEDGED EXPANSIONS should cost money. quit being a dolt.

They have periods of time where if you log in, you can claim a specific Living World to perma add to your account.
