most restrictions are designed to stop RMT spammers from doing their thing. Basically you can trade, but just not everything.

There are some things you can buy and sell with a free account though but it's limited.

If you want to get mad, get mad at RMT. If people didn't buy stuff from gold sellers, there wouldn't be anti-rmt procedures ingame.

And I'll say it for every single online game : you players that buy RMT are the whole root of this problem for wanting stuff without playing the game. You're the reason we all have to put with this crap.

ESO is doesn't have a F2P part, you have to buy the game. SO that limits goldsellers in itself.

Are you kidding me? RMT is an excuse? did you, by any chance, see what was going on in Lost Ark when there was no actual restrictions applied to the accounts?
several characters walking on the same position the same path, teleporting around etc.
RMT is a HUGE problem in the mmo genre.

You say that because you have never played a game that was filled with rmt without any check. I can tell that as a regular player it's really annoying, getting spammed by private messages, having the chat flooded with ads, having to fill your ignore list everyday to not see that crap so you can just have a normal conversation with other people in the area without having to scroll the chat 7 times to just see what the guy before you said.
And that's just some of the annoyance (then there is the actual botting).

Well, for the record someone who bought two expansions before they even started installing the game can't use the trading post either. 5 day lockout. I can't buy dyes, which is all I wanted from it.

I have yet to see a goldseller in Gw2 spamming chats unlike most other mmo's. quite happy with that.

This is actually not true. You can use the Trading post but you are very limited. You can only get basic crafting materials, crafted gear, some bags and so on. So you are not fully out of it.
The reason is to stop bots from destroying the tradingpost as have happen in other MMO going f2p. It is a good choice but understandable that you feel left out because you do not have full access.
If you are f2p make sure to salvage all gear you do not use and gather all nodes you pass so that you can start crafting your own gear and that will save you gold in the long run.
