Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2

NCSoft is a horrible publisher. Don't support them.
The City of Heroes player-base deserved better. Edit: Forgot about Wild Star too sorry.

They killed Wildstar as well, way too soon honestly.

GW2 does not have region lock. GW2 has two datacenters (NA and EU) and players can play from all over the world (with a few countries excluded because of sanctions etc) on both. At least with the stand-alone GW2 client.

Does Steam have some form of region lock? ... I dont know.

Maybe you should write a City of Heroes review instead of a Guild Wars review?!

Well at least he got a point NCSoft isn't the best publisher around, they close games on a whim like CoH, wildstar or even pull the plug out of their ARPG in beta. But luckely though it seems they seem to keep their hands of ANet so far and GW is still playable.

And yeah it is pittyful behaviour of the OP just screaming and yelling about something most on Steam won't even know anything about because it happened almost a decade ago.

True, forgot about this as I pretty much boycotted anything they got their hands on after CoH.

How is it pitiful to hold these huge corporate entities responsible for their behaviour. I am just passing on words of warning for those who don't know better. But if you want to shrug it off as me "screaming and yelling" then you do you.

I'm sure ArenaNet is great, just as Cryptic were... but I'm not going to be giving NCsoft another penny.

wildstar has its self to blame for dying

I mean, whatever helps you sleep at night. I'm sure GW2 is great but people should be aware of NCsoft's previous treatment of their customers. To say otherwise is anti-consumer.

Not for me to say but I'm sure there were many who enjoyed it.

Even if NCSoft -has- dubious practices on some of the other franchises, I dont think the devs should be punished for it. Anet might be under NCSoft, but they shouldn't be punished for their publisher.
