Waypoints get erased?

Did the waypoints I got on the raptor mount really get erased after the free raptor mount ran out? everything besides the starting areas are now gone on the map like I never explored them

No the mount has no effect on what part of the map you have unlocked. Are you sure you are looking at the right place?Did you change the map layer view by mistake maybe?

I hit M like I normally do and after my raptor mount free time ran out. My map is covered by the fog like I never explored it. Is there a filter I accidentally pressed?

Probably yeah. Down on the right of the map there are the layer buttons. Basically the middle is the ground level and the others are higher or lower views of the map. You probably hit one of those by mistake.

Are you on a different character? Map completion is character bound, not account bound

I only have 1 character. idk what happened but large portions of my map are now covered in fog so i no longer see way points or roads but I still see the Heart Quest Icons some of which are complete or have progress

How far did you zoom out on the map screen? The farther you zoom out the blurrier it gets and icons dissapear.

Not saying you did just another idea of what it could be.

Yea I zoomed in all the way, theres only undiscovered fog and hearts if I found them

You can click-drag the map.
I would advise watching a beginners guide on youtube, if you are so alergic to the ingame tutorials.

Open the map and check the bottom right corner, there you can switch between different layers on the same map (underground, surface level, above etc)

The map has layers. You can change between them in the lower right corner or by holding down shift and scrolling with your mouse.

Also, discovered waypoints remain visible and can be interacted with even if you zoom all the way out. They will just be very tiny on your screen.
