The new people will have to appreciate the graphics, as is. Besides, GW2 having bad graphics is a subjective opinion. If that's the measuring stick of a potential new player who doesn't even bother to look at gameplay and the wealth content on offer before rejecting the idea of playing GW2, the game's community is better off without them.
And what makes you think good graphic is a recipe for mmo success?
Lets see... sword art online never achieve any success, new world is already dead, and lost ark lost the majority of its player in less than 2months.
Gw2 doesnt really need graphical upgrade, it just needs performance upgrade. No rubber banding in wvw would improve this game so much better than a graphical upgrade
Dx11 and dx12 dont improve the graphics. Anet did say it would allow them to add some new effects, but i havent noticed any of those new effects.
They do improve the performance tho, especially in spvp. Enabling the option completely remove the stuttering and increase fps quite a lot.
DX11 will be the default setting once it's out of beta. Until then, I don't think ANet will implement anything new so that might be the reason you don't see any improvements as of yet.
Shoot.. i mean swords of legend
GW2 has some of the best graphics and character animations I've seen in an MMO.
graphics in this game are outdated period
It is a 10-year-old game with some of the best designers in the industry. If they updated one system, lighting, you wouldn't be able to tell when this game was released. They might just do that once DX11 is out of Beta in their engine.
I played it back in 2012 until 2014, and it's ok for a playthrough or two, then it quickly gets boring.
Lol... remind me what kind of innovation new world and lost ark did in terms of gameplay. Let us knw if any of the newer mmo has interesting open world activity
