Wait until you decide to craft chuka champawat or the legendary accessories (or any of the wvw legendaries). Those are prolly the worst grind in this game
Aside from all of that: GW2 is also P2W. In this game with no gear grind or maps level requirement, the "prestige" is placed on the skins. Clear example of that is the legendary items which are only an skin with the same value as normal equipment.
And where are the best skins of the game? You got it, in the gem store. So yeah GW2 is a P2W game like any other without a subscription. It just happens it is not as annoying or egregious as Lost Ark where you can not play new content without that.
sometimes, i wish these clowns visit other forum, like cs:go or dota2, and complain abt the "p2w" cosmetic aspect of those games. You'd probably be given a warm reception lmfao
In my opinon, anyone who seriously says that GW2 is P2W is just grasping for straws while trying to push his baseless argument. I mean, by that logic pretty much any game with a store would be P2W since you can buy things that "others might consider winning".
Asmondgold has never played the game, and basis his opinions off word-of-mouth ♥♥♥♥ talk from his WoW community.
Summit only played PvP. And his review was literally "The game is good, but its too hard for me to learn quickly without investing a lot of time." Hardly a "bad review". Lmao
Not sure who the third one is or why anyone would care about his opinion, but given what you stated about the last two, it should be taken with less than a grain of salt.
This dudes literally just fishing for reactions. Imagine having so much free time and nothing else of value to contribute to the world with that time. haha
PvP is his bread and butter though. It's an investment he wasn't willing to make

WvW and PvE do use your gear stats, but a huge chunk of the players use exotic gear or ascended gear there. From Exotic to Ascended the stats difference is about 5% to 7%, Legendary gear has the same status as Ascended gear, the difference is that it has a cool skin and a few QoL features like being able to use it on any character level 80 across your account.
There is no P2W in this game and anyone that claims that GW2 is a P2W game is being completely ignorant, you could spend 5000$ on this game and you would still not win anything, the difference is that your dead body will be shinier.
Kripparrian was a streamer/Youtuber that played the game at launch. He found an obvious oversight at a vendor that could be used to gain a huge amount of material/gold. He abused it on stream and he encouraged others to do the same before they patch it. He got a 3-day suspension that later got turned into a permanent ban. His fanbase were angry and boycotted the game. And Kripparrian talked ♥♥♥♥ about the game for ever after that.
