Might work for you, might not. Results very from person to person
Do not offer this product to regions outside of NA and EU. If a customer's ping to both Frankfurt (EU) or Ashburn (NA) is 100-150+, then GW2 is a BAD purchase, and negligent sale on ArenaNet's part.
I live in Western Australia and play on 215ms to Frankfurt. I have muddled through enough content to earn legendary raid armor. I've played enough fractals to have a personal fractal level of 100. I am on the cusp of Platinum in sPVP. Those who have spectated elite NA teams vs elite EU teams during Teapot's Global MOTA tournament will understand what I am talking about. Ping is a serious issue in high-end content. It is an insurmountable disadvantage in PVP.
@Arenanet do not offer the product to us without the necessary infrastructure for >150 ping.
Exitlag can optimise Western Australia -> Ashburn to 270ms
We get 220ms -> Frankfurt with/without exitlag
East coast Australians, probably all of them do yes. Everybody else will have to test their connection to both Ashburn and Frankfurt to find out. For West Australians living in the capitol, EU servers offer a better (but still not playable at high level) connection.
Anyways, I'm now enjoying a sub 100ms connection to an SEA MMO :')
The game is playable for casuals because they won't recognise being hit by a boss-mechanic or AoE due to their inputs registering server-side 200-300ms late. It is not playable for enthusiasts. For those who cannot achieve sub 100ms connection; For those with a morsel of ambition for endgame and pvp; I say play a different MMO. I have raid legendary armor on a squishy thief, and fractal level 100. It was an absolute slog and I was unable to experience Guildwars 2 as the developers had intended.
As I said, don't take my word for it. Go ahead and download the trial game from the official site guildwars2.com and try the game, see how is your connection.
By DEFAULT ff xiv has a half second of lag, BUILT INTO IT LOL
EU server if you see something (DE)or (FR) they mostly speak native language just join the EU international you wont have a issue mostly can type proper English better than mine
except if you joining discord or wvw guild raid just a little tiny bit confuse from their ascent but overall still can hear loud and clear enough what the commander need
last if your ISP support IPV6 go enable it , personal experience for whatever reason IPV4 have more spike lag every 3 or 4 days later after router restart problem remain
IPV6 2 week later only start lag spike only 1 restart problem solved , join NA server if you have friend if no 100% prefer EU very active community
Go figure with ExitLag or UU Gamebooster. Personally, I'm playing from Singapore and out of 365 days a year, I get 14-25 days of high ping (300ms++).
My average ping with Singtel is 240ms to this game's NA servers.
Your experience and mileage may vary.
You all might wanna give Final Fantasy 14 online a try. It has PvP, not on the scale of GW2 but at least you won't have to deal with cheating "ArenaNet Babies" and when it's fair, it's always more fun.
ArenaNet is a horrible company all the way around!
