Stay out of pvp and wvw because what players do play the game use speed hacks and teleport hacks. Also has the worst pvp ranking of any game out on the market.

hackers and botters show up for a bit every now and then and get banned all at once in a wave.

Whenever the bot problem becomes noticeable in spvp I feel like it's because everyone dropped it. Are we even in a spvp season right now? I don't feel like bots or hackers are actually a problem in any other game mode.

I have thousands of hours in wvw and I've honestly never seen a bot in wvw aside from just after launch. Hackers I've seen a FEW of but they were always new accounts that didn't last long and never managed to do anything besides run away really damn fast as soon as someone poked them. Most of them get caught and killed anyways.

I see more people calling people who afk with minions bots than anything.

now you're exaggerating, yes totally there are bots in arena pvp (bots the types you see in csgo, the ones you can add in offline mode), they are annoyance not because they are bots and they are pwning you (because as bots they are absolutely stupid and easy kills) but, because when they're on your team you are basically at a minus real human.

Concerning a true cheater, yeah there are some..a couple I've experienced (in arena pvp) - they are very rare, compared to wow or dota2 or csgo. I agree, arena pvp ranking system is pure ♥♥♥♥, I really wish it was like csgo.

Now when it comes to wvw - I've yet to encounter any bots or cheaters.

PS: arenanet bans faster than valve, report and wait.

I have seen hackers in WvW, it took very long time to get rid of them. However, saying that the game is "full of hackers" is not true. There are some, but in general, nobody likes them. Even the server they are hacking FOR is pissed about it. Speed hacks, teleport hacks, going under the map hacks, all these have been around since the WvW started.

There are also gold miners in specific spots. If you know where to look you can find them 24h standing in the corner rekilling respawning mobs for the drops.

I would not say these are massive problems that affect all the playerbase, you can easily play years and never even bump into one of the cheaters.

Been out of pvp for like 2 years but the last time we had a hacker he was publicly exposed (his account and char names I mean) and devs proceeded to kill his character in-game before banning him as a symbolic gesture.

Glicko rating system works fine when there's people actually playing but there's an issue with the count since everyone discourage playing PvP, the abuse of win trading and alt accounts for DuoQ sure isn't fun if you're competitively trying to get on top because people match manipulate a lot, however it doesn't stop you from having fun in duels and getting good at the game.

PvP Rewards for playing ranked are also pretty good and can be useful in other game modes, so really, no matter what you do, you get something out of it.

Most issues of the results are often the player base fault for not taking interest, I know from experience that getting good at GW2 is something people don't want to do at all because this game has a lot of instant gratification that people seek, that would be nothing new nowadays for mostly everything anyway.

As a td;lr, not enough players care about PvP and they should since it's pretty good, just learn to take the L and get good, most issues will get solved right away as more people play.

Also hackers exist but are rare, to ban them right away is not the solution, learning their exploit then banning is the solution. As a notice, those hacks are just mobility hacks, you can still destroy them easily, script kiddies have never really been carried either.

People just don’t go and make threads of non existent problem . There are plenty of such threads on gw2 forums and Reddit.

Me, neither, though there have been plenty of reports for both WvW and PvP (more so in the latter game mode).

My WvW experience has been cheater-free and a pleasant one for most part (I play that game mode quite a lot), and the worst part about PvP (which I quit three years ago) is the awful team constellations selected by the automated system and the ranking system that puts you together with absolute beginners.

Nah, for notice. Wanting to make money off the game via real world trading is also very difficult and easily tracked.
