Dirt 2 not working on Windows 8.

There's a free upgrade to Win 10. 8 is going out soon. In fact, if it's not 8.1 you have not updated in a long time. 10 is free to Win 8. GO FOR IT!

Could be GFWL. Deinstall your game. Install it and do this here:

Win 10 is a windows update now. You have no choice so upgrade.

steam has a new download for ya. the original game file is dead.

Had the same problem in win 10, solved it by installing Microsoft game for windows- Live Redistributable and Microsoft Games for windows Market Place. Also errase the file: hardware_settings_config.xml in steamapps/ commom/ dirt2/ SYSTEM . Start the game from dirt2_game.exe. Hope it works for you.

Moved to 10 from 7 and my game files functioned perfectly. In fact everything did.

Dirt 2 works PERFECTLY well on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 as well. Do not tell lies.
If you have the Game on Steam simple make a Shortcut on the Desktop with the Steam Client and launch it from the Shortcut...

lol. in here dirt 2 and dirt 3 complete edition are working on my system.
also my fanatec v2 base is working on this titles :-)
if you dont believe me i will make a movie.

my pc specs are.
intel i7,x99 mobo,16 gb ddr4 and 1 gtx980
windows 8.1
