Black Screen when editing name. How to fix this?

I can play the game just fine, and enjoying it, but would be happier if I could change my name from "Player One" to anything else I'd like. I saw a post about this issue here on Steam, but I can't put together what to do exactly. Any help is appreciated, and thank you in advance!

Yeah, I get the black screen after I select "change name" but it stays in black screen, I can't fix it. Any ideas?
Edit: Alt+Enter won't solve it.

Yeah, nothing works. I click change name, black screen appears with white box in the middle, then I can't eliminate the black screen no matter what I do.

I can click in the box and type my name and can hit enter, but the black screen remains.

Yeah, I use the fix for the saving, the save system works just fine.

Just nothing works, man. :/ Guess I'll remain as Player One. Thank you for helping. I don't really care about it anymore, I tried so many things. Black screen, and the game freezes.

I enjoy it, I love DiRT 2. Fortunately, I could buy an original copy for cheap. 🤗

Had the same problem just now even with the physical copy on Win10. On Win7 I had no problems at all, even in 2022 on my old PC with a GTX 1070, when I replayed it the last time. Now I (sadly) have Win10 due to more recent hardware and also switched to AMD GPU (RX 6700 XT). Alt+Enter did help me tho, but only when I did it right after starting the game to get into window-mode and I stayed in window-mode until the first race. After that, the game worked as intended, even @3440x1440 Ultrawide everything's working perfectly.

I gave up after a while. I just played as Player One. I achieved 100% playthrough, so I deleted the game in January.

Run it in windowed mode
And use https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/9.5.6 to make it full screen borderless
