- the mentioned above xbox live .dll is indeed required
- the water puddles glitch out and show some weird artifacting (either the puddles or their reflections) when >Half Rate Shading< is activate, so leave that OFF for this game
- easy 60FPS even on ultra settings, good battery life, can't complain... maybe a bit much baked in deadzone on the sticks
- controller Template defaults to "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse", just use one of the standard gamepad templates instead
- works fine in Steam Offline Mode with WiFi OFF
Gaming Wiki has a link to a file that lets you skip the intro videos... the game just crashed when i applied those files, deleted the corresponding files, same thing, restored them and it worked again. Try at your own risk but that is probably a NOPE.
but with the .dll thing i bet that Valve would chuck this into the unsupported games pile.
It works with xlive.dll edited for Bullet Storm. Into steam mode, and desktop mode. This Dll shunts the xlive acces. All save files works too. But for Steam, this is not an official support.
edit:
i uninstalled and deleted GFWL folder as someone suggested becausei skipped this part. so after i booted the game, it asked me to install something and i just clicked cancel and it still loaded the game fine. when i came back to naming myself, i just kept the "Player One" name and chose my name through the audio name selection. That's pretty cool that the audio team recorded many english names.
Thanks so much for this! I had the GFWL fix, but I hadn't tried running an older version of Proton. 7.0-6 worked perfectly!
