Retail as Steam key?

When I buy a new retail of the game, can I activate the key on Steam? Or don't work it for the game?

I googled it. I found this: "DIRT2 is not a game that will activate via a retail cd-key. You didn't buy it in Steam so you cannot add it to your library."

Hope it helps.

Codemasters needs to either re-launch the game on Steam. Or make a new game(remake) like they did with Grid this year.

Then is trade via Users the only one solution.

As of now that is the only way to get a Steam version of the game.

Even if you buy it, the game does not work on Steam (I still have it activated on Steam).

It doesn't work because of Windows Live shutdown :S

I can play it. Used some guide and you can get it to work on W10.
