This is probably true yeah. Hopefully they do a BIG advertising campaign once it reaches 1.0.

well when you don't advertise your game or pay big streamers to promote it then you are basically asking for your game to die

bruh.. are you serious? im currently commenting at noon on a tuesday and it has almost 3000 people in game on steam. its nowhere close to dieing be thankful.

3000 players is "dying" to some people. I used to have this mentality. Meanwhile, Legion TD II has been going strong with 500-2000 players daily for years.
It has literally the same amount of player Baldurs Gate 3 had in Early access then it became GOTY 2023 lmao. What are you on about, don't slander this amazing game the same week they release BEEBO
not dead yet but on life support just like Battlerite before its final days

they killed this game imo by making it a battle royale, people dont want a moba style BR game. They should have instead leaned heavily into the battlerite arena style gamemode making it the main competitive focus, battlerite was popular and died when they dropped the BR trash lmao, these devs took that idea then started with what killed that game.

They have a quality dev team, unfortunately they fell into the trap of forcing 2 popular genres together thinking it will just work because they do separately.

It literally has an arena mode, so what are you going off about? silly

The developers themselves made an official statement saying the numbers they are pulling are below expectations...

BG3 had been in EA for quite a while, and was sold at full-retail price by Larian's principle. They made explicit posts telling people NOT to buy the game unless they wanted to contribute to testing, rather than playing.
I hate to say I told you so but....i told you so. Not separating the sweaty premades from new players really makes the game suck. Thanks tom.

This has very little to do with the problem. There are numerous examples of where sealclubbing was prevalent but the games did not suffer for it whatsoever. Battle Royales especially are very notorious for this. Apex Legends is the easiest example.

The games thrive on the core audience who market the game, so casual players are in constant flux: chewed up and spit out for the amusement of the core audience. For some alien reason this has proven to be a fairly sustainable model.

The problem with Supervive is that there is no meaningful core audience. For exactly the same reason games like Battlerite, Bloodline Champions, Fangs and the Dead Island arena battler did not: because these games have no depth. If your core audience starts hitting the skill ceiling and the game is unable to diversify itself meaningfully they will leave. This is also why the classical moba formula thrives to this day, but the zoomer-moba "arena battler" genre has zero success stories.
It's really a damn shame this game does not have that many players, because it's so fun.
that is so delusional of you to say. there was a core audience. after the devs spent THOUSANDS on expensive twitch streamers they had around 12k ish people on off hours. Now its been a couple months and its down to 4-2k.

yes, the game is dead. of the 3/4k current players, only a very small percentage are buying cosmetics which the devs need to keep the servers going and fund any future developments. they've already mentioned being a small indy dev team as a reason why they couldn't provide more local servers. everyone who's wanted to play the game already has, moving out of beta might bring in a smalll bump to the player base but will only be temporary.

right now there's the money out for servers and money in from micro-transactions.
