Supervive is not a good game
besides the fact that a lot of top lobby players consider meditation to be OP and climber boots to be the Timmy pick (obvious potential low practicality), you are somewhat mirroring something I myself have felt since they reworked the equipment system from what it used to be (instead of upgrade shards you would get copies of items directly and duplicates converted to equipment level XP)
I largely think we need to go back to that old system where you could just loot different equipment off enemies and would often have to improvise your build in the early to midgame, in fact many veterans quite enjoyed adjusting builds per matchup and being like "OK that's a poke comp over there we feel comfy diving, and their gear will help us deal with that brawler comp"
the fact you feel that pretty much immediately suggests to me equipment is not delivering agency in the way the devs wanted and has actually removed creative agency we once had, in some ways it's good to hear even for me personally (combatting that "no it's the children who are wrong" vibe or whatever the Simpsons quote is)
as for the rest of the thread, if I'm blunt, I do get worried about the future health of the game, but a lot of the things people are citing here don't feel like major factors in the perspective I've gathered over time, not that they're invalid per se but not real dealbreakers to this game finding an audience.
to any devs reading don't feel disheartened, to one of you in particular the nature of my criticisms is already established through prior conversation, "game dev is hard" and all.
there are a lot ways to revive ppl its usually pretty fast except for the later stages of the game. thats actually a point that a lot of ppl saying how easy it is, picking out one game where u were dead for 5 minutes (wich is standard for the most BR games) does not discribe the whole game. usually u getting revived pretty fast. and why the hell would you quit the game cuz you died thats a disgusting move and its not tolerated in almost every online competitive game
Why is it a problem? so what u saying is u want the game item system to be rng? i rather stick with the system they have now instead of having luck with items also if u want to add more items its even more rng it would be annoying as hell. u have 21 items its more then enough for a br considering u also have 2 power slots.
i dont understand why u want the item system to be rng so badly. its also not like u land and have your items u also have to farm for it
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
good one.
>Game finnaly comes out
>Surge of new players
>Old players who know everything will mope the floor
>Less than 3k after a month
Hmmm I feel like I've seen this mentality in another top down battle royale game that came out. Incredibly hostile to new players due to the community and mechancis. I should check it's player numbers.
For one what does that matter, Rank doesn't mean someone would be good at saying a game is good or not, only that they're skilled at playing said game.
Heck why bring League into this; this looks like has more to do with other top down BRs than an outright moba. I'd compare it to other games, the big one being Battlerite but... I think that died?
Closest game I can think off the top of my head would be Eternal Return and that..., well. The game is still alive but hard to say how successful it is, though population numbers have gone down.
