nice little game

The game is short (<30hr) but was very fun to play.
I like the character design as well as the environment design.
Combat is not too difficult just a little challenge to get used to.
Story is enough for this short game and can be dig in more in the future when they release ToI2.
One weird thing is bosses can do aerial attack but not main character.

Will try out ToI2 when it comes out.

Awesome 2D soulslike!

This game is not perfect, but its still a recommend.

I have to admit a large part of it is because of presentation. This game is beautiful. The way it makes the world feel so real kinda just works with me. The story is also well written - early on it pulls the rug out from under you to raise the stakes, then gets you to invest in the characters and their situation along with it. Along the way, the game will introduce new word building and lore to keep the story interesting.

On the bad side, the game is pretty clunky. Sometimes ladders will be placed on walls that can't be accessed when you are moving down, forcing you to take fall damage instead. Some platforms aren't reachable unless you dash then jump which can be more awkward than you think.

The combat is a bit of a mixed bag because while it IS challenging and rewarding, later on the game will introduce you to second-hand weapons. Second-hand weapons are almost always faster than first-hand weapons - and they deal more damage. First-hand weapons almost become obsolete at that point, despite the fact that the game will continue to give you them.

Almost forgot to mention but the optional post game side-quests are really not worth it as they get pretty tedious and repetitive.

Overall the game is definitely worth it if you enjoy souls-likes.

It's a great 2-D game with a story that's very interesting. Good gameplay and love the art style of this gorgeous game my only issue is the hitboxes are pretty bad during boss fights the boss fights are pretty frustrating.

Makes me want to own my very own pet rats!!!
