What exactly does "Resistance" do?
As the title says. Just wondering what Frog Resistance, Grub Resistance, etc actually do. Are they just extra defense against the specified enemy type? The game doesn't really explain it, that I can see.

I am not 100% sure but it feels like they grant better defense toward particular foe - absorb more damage.

felt like that in the beggining, but now i feel like the defense stat means more... idk what to belive

Like the first response guy, I also have felt/assumed that the Resistence stat grants better overall damage reduction, point for point, than the defense stat (obviously just for the specific enemy that resistence is for).

I'm not sure what the undead rats are considered though...doesn't seem like they are any of the four resistences so I just stack pure defense then.

Resistance seems to add a little bit of *melee* defense against that species.

Here's me taking one drop attack from Mozi King while having 0 Mozi Resistance

and here's me having the same Defense but 2/3 Mozi Resistance.

Interestingly enough, ranged attacks aren't affected.
