like the counter fire effect <3
I've been thinking of trying that chain whip, but I guess I'm still a bit early in the game.
Anyway, alchemist seems pretty fun. I tried the hammer weapon for a bit, but I don't think that really works for me, the game seems too fast for that kind of weapon..
got like 7 power 19 alchemist 10 engineer now, feel much better. Games will end soon, the no return point mission has come, can't wait for 2nd play through w/ different weapons
For Alchemy build, it is power or agility/ alchemy / engineer, you don't need durability, as you have high armor and elemental resist. Power = more raw damage, agility = more immobility on top of affliction. I'll say agility fit the theme better, however, the fire chain that i've been using scale w/ power. Of course you could put 1 Power point for the Physical Module to work and put the rest in Durability, to make the ultimate tank?
Edit: I have now finished my 1st play through w/ 20 Alchemist 12 Engineer 10 Power, could say that Power > Dur for Alchemist Engineering builds, they are only 2 fight that Dur would have help, which are the Executioner and Queen fights.
Queen fight is quite tough w/ 0 Durability, after got burst twice, I did the things Alchemist does best, sell Materials and stoke up on bombs :)
My claw build ended with 20 agility and 10 vigour - felt nice nearly never out of endurance spamming attacks. If mob is stunned you can wait 2 sec to regain endurance before finish :)
Stun grenades are enhancing the build in fights with multiple mobs / and if you want to finish bosses quickly.
Claws bring the fun, I tried 4-5 other weapon types - Claws only represent my playstyle...
2nd play through w/ Agi Vig build, 1 point in everything then 8 agi 8 vig and 4 dur
I think 8 vig is about enough, gonna get 10 vig then max Agi w/ occasional Dur
I lvl Armored Fan first, because Nemesis Claw stats are quite weak. Got Nemesis Fan in Selendite domain, upgrade that coz its Immobility stats are much better than Nemesis Claw, it is so good vs Selendite!
I think I'll stick w/ this, and wait for Thousand cut or some burst fan later on.
You'll get modules that increase immobilization and restore stamina if you do one. Late game, you get a module that increases the damage you can pull of from immobilizing tremendously.
It's ridiculous--just stand behind enemies or bosses and spin to win. Most bosses can't even do more than a few moves before you annihilate them.
Power / Impact build are strong right away
think you gotta get more endurance to dodge circle around them, or maybe a shield? and watch them, toy with them, you'll find they are quite machine like and very clockwerk dummys if you know how to exploit them. also there seems to be times to attack and not, simply charging your weapon at a certain time, will cause them to just kinda reboot and stand there while they take it, this is usually after dodging one of their attacks id say.
on that note, thats really a big rule of thumb if youre struggling with an enemy, just dont take the first move, let them come in, dodge/block/backstep whatever best avoids or interrupts the attack and they usually leave themselves wide open, with the occasional backstep, but even then depending on your weapon they might not escape, i.e. halbreds
another thing that helps early, if you're struggling, just abuse momentum freeze, or the ele muskets, even grenades, game gives you hundreds of grenades free lying around lol.
but most of all, synergize your build early game, go full immob, or full stagger, mid to late game you can start dipping your foot into every pool, but your stats should really focus on one damage type, and one CC type, I.E.:
offensive:
power , agility , or alchemy/elemental
Stagger , immobilize, or freezing (or any other CC stat/strat for example i focused on fully charged halbred thrusts to initiate attacks safley from range)
defensive:
balance and armor/hp tank, or dodging with say high endurance
consider support effects, whether from ability/modules or items and organize item bar with only the essentials to survive, not the kitchen sink lol
but in the end you are right, the enemy prob does have infinite stam, but they are automotons so... but like i said, depending on how you move and fight, you can really turn them into clockwerk dummys and run circles around them. the key id say just dont let them wallop you otherwise they will keep going, back-step a few and they usually look like they are rebooting lol and its quite satisfying combat really once you learn them.
edit: kept flapping finger talkers trying to remember something lol. but now i got it! honestly i just stopped using standard attack, uncharged heavy attacks are my standard attack. so yea id say there may be a bit of a problem with standard/light attack being too slow, depending on the weapon. on the dual swords it feels real nice, i guess the fans too, but most other weapons, r1 attacks are garbo imo too lol.
though... its a shame... i havent confirmed but feels like last hit of r1 combo or even all hits escalate in dmg, where if you use uncharged r2 heays, the dmg seems to be the same, just different, depending maybe faster/or not/or same, animation.
