What build are you playing, how do u like it?
I started w/ the Bodyguard, the stagger worked for a while, before it got too hard around lvl 20. Ended up restarted and played my more Comfortable Fast Hitting w/ Long range Alchemist w/ some Engineering. Resources are more tight w/ this build however, when I am low on health, I could use the Frost Gun and not die too much.
Recently, I've added the Fire Chain, because many enemies have high Ice resistance. That truly help vs the Trumpet guy, who beats me a lot w/ longer range, and the fat ice guy who is nearly ice immune.
Thinking about add the Lightning claw as well :)

I started as Dancer, but immobilize sucks early so I decided to try fire chain when I got it and fell in love with its moveset, so now I'm pretty much a pure power build with max phys damage and a bit of elemental boost for the occasional fire infusion.

Soldier with chain+musket...not bad with long range. Only one way - dodge and dodge
The starting class here means even less than in DS. Sure, there's no respec option in Steelrising, but it seems like it's really difficult to really "spoil" your build so that restart is needed.

I chose alchemist, but havent used any weapon except Duscus Chain and ice musket so far. But now the shop has a module that heals on counterattacks, so I'm considering switching to Wheel of Vengeance to try it out. Then I'll definitely try immobilisation build with sword&rapier.

Since the attribute windows open wider with every level-up, I wonder whether there's a hard cap for attributes. 20 maybe, because at 10 it already looks like half-open.

Dancer with Nemesis Claws is amazing. Just go 1:1 Agility and Vigour (endurance) until Vigour is 5 or 6. Then go all the way into Agility until it's maxed.
At this point you're a powerhouse that erases bosses and mobs constantly.

Then alternate Vigour with Durability.
And make sure to upgrade the Claws.

I tried all the Agility-scaling weapons and the claws are definitely the best as long as you can do parrying.

After the restart, I found out that many of the seeming too hard fights, could have been avoided in some way :D It's more confidence n comfort than difficulty alone i guess.
Also, alchemist is the most flexible build, you can use guns, bombs and enchanted weapons, unlike Power or Agility focus build.

I like Agility build too, I often play that for 2nd playthrough and play power on 3rd. Spiders often have well designed Mage and Rogue, their Warrior / Tanks are often bad, only Technomancer has decent Guardian build, Greedfall warrior is a waste of stats starting class.

Just found out that Gun could charge too, charged gun attack are very economical for Alchemist!

I'm doing the same thing. Agility at 20. Got like 6 points in durability, 10 in vigour and even put 1 in engineering (kinda pointless for this build). Claws are fully upgraded and are killer with immobilisation. I also got fire&ice at level 4, but claws are definitely number one right now.

alchemist, using Lightning baton + ice gun coupled with the ram for Fire, pretty much if it's able to be slapped with a debuff I'm freezing/shocking/igniting it.

Im playing max level, fast weapon and a lot of improved throwables

for my first playthrough
i stuck to the gunhalberd
and only focusing on Power, with little in Vigor/Endurance
it's a blast
moduls mainly centered around charged attacks
once you get the timings it works perfectly, and the damage is pretty substantial

my current playthrough i focused on alchemy mainly looking at the special attacks you get through your traversal upgrades and it's mad. getting all 3 debuffs up and delivering crits is a pure joy.

Been using Power/Durability build. It's probably the best build. Let me explain why.
There are basically 3 builds. Counter build requires agility/vigor/durability, alchemy build requires alchemy/engineering/durability, and then it's power build which only invests all your stats in 2. That's important because I beat the game without losing souls one time, did all the side quests, collected all weapons, and only got to lv48. Meaning that you only have 40ish points without NG+ (tho they promised ng+ coming soon)
This build mainly uses charged attacks. And your stamina actually recovers while charging, meaning that you don't need to worry about vigor. Lv3+ hammers or lv4+ spears basically knock down all enemies including titans with a fully charged attack (except those who cannot be knocked down). And you can charge up another during the time they got up.
The only problem with this build is that you are charging all the time, so you cannot unlock trophies like counter, defense, elemental damage, etc. in your playthrough

Game really hard. I can play only with discus(big range). Shield not working - lose 50% stamina and i can inly one hit, to kill fat enemy need 10-20 time lol. No idea how to play with another weapon.

How you use full charge attack if all enemy attack speedy than you?

Parry is love, parry is life. Started by getting Vigour to 14 and then alternated between Agility and Elemental Alchemy. Used Nemesis Claw until I found Foil and Dagger, which I would say has a somewhat inferior moveset, but way more style points.

im playing with wemod so none of it matters!

Just kidding i havent actually stated yet, im downloading it now and came here to see what builds were working for people.

I usually like something that gets me up close and fast. In Elden Ring i ended up using a vampre build before it came thing thing to do and i loved it, even more so after i got mimic tear if you know what that is.

I cant wait to start this game. I have a couple smaller games to try first just to see if i want to keep them before the refund window expires since i bought them over a week ago and this is the first time ive had to actually play a game for more then 15 min. I should have a few hours at minimum so im going to do those real quick and then hop into this....prettty stoked to try a souls like title thats not made by from but also looks like it was made with quality in mind.

That sounds kinda like my style so ill give it a shot first. I have no issue with parrying thanks to all my time playing ninja gaiden on xbox as a kid lol. Also the Otogi series on xbox made by From Soft was hard as nails so when this genre was born i was prepped and ready to go.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone!

Enemy have infinity stamina. They haven't stagger like dark souls. Bugged hitbox. All our actions have delays.
I just run away in some place. And really think about activate assist mode for damage and stamina regen.
