Yes, we want make Autopsy really realistic - we work with the coroners to make the presented situations as close to the real ones as possible.
Sure, there will be some horror elements - it is part of the coroner job. There are different kinds of death, and each one has a history - not always happy. Autopsy work is therefore a factor that can help the police to solve sometimes really difficult cases. We hope to keep this atmosphere in the game.
I agree 100% with what you said
As a huge fan of horror games, I'm definitely on board for that aspect, but I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of clarification on how much of the game is "cause of death is ghosts" versus "cause of death is not suicide, but actually homicide".
Are you guys going to touch on the differences between a coroner and a medical examiner, and how fraught the difference was in history?
I understand that morbid and supernatural trends helps with other people finding and enjoying the game but I prefer a proper academic take in a "simulator".
Adding a mode without those quirks doesn't seem viable just for a couple of players but that's just my two cents on the topic.
Good luck with the game. <3
Err supernatural horror isn't part of a coroners job which was clearly present in the demo while I like some supernatural horror the title of the game is misleading.
I really like the aspect of doing an autopsy more than the story aspect. Will there be a mode that will just focus on the cases? (ie: skip most of the dialogue, cutscenes)
I wouldn't mind story mode, and I'm reminded of Trauma Center. (Definitely different games, but I love that the protagonist is a snarky surgeon and there is story to drive why a particular case is happening, etc.) There's just times where I don't want to look at potential jump scares before I get to the autopsy itself! I prefer getting creeped out instead of shock horror.
Never mind, SCS should actually add that as DLC for their game.
