I dont understand this game
So you can go around the loop but if you add something the loop gets harder, whereas if you don't add something the loop doesnt get harder. Why would i add vampire houses and dens of spiders??

The general idea is that you place things to make it harder for the hero. In exchange the Hero gets XP, equipment and cards. This will make him stronger as you prepare to fight the Boss. When you've placed enough cards, the Boss will spawn.

If you place too many things or make it too hard for the Hero, he will die. If you make it too easy for him, then he probably won't be strong enough to kill the Boss and die anyway. So you need to try and find a way to make the Hero strong enough to kill the Boss.

NB the difficulty increases with each loop regardless of card usage. :messagebottle:

Since the enemy stat scaling per loop also applies to the boss, and the goal of each chapter is to beat the boss, it's a balancing act.

Spiders are a good source of more cards, which help you progress faster in pretty much every way, and vampires are a good source of equipment which help you survive all the fights you're adding to the loop. Combining the two are also good for a valuable camp resource over time.

So i played Doom the other day. Why would i move from the spawn point since if i do i will have to fight enemies. Can't i just stay there for the rest of my life and live in peace?..........

That's not exactly a good comparison. Loop Hero is a little weird in that you control pretty much exactly what you fight, and it's not immediately obvious that killing different types of enemies yields different benefits (Spiders giving more cards, Flesh Golems dropping better equipment, etc.). It's a fair question for someone to ask, "Why shouldn't I only kill the easiest enemy in the game if that's an option?" when doing so can still, in theory, allow them to reach the goal.

To really use Doom as an example, the question might better be, "Why shouldn't I just sneak through the level, killing as few enemies as possible?" to which the answer is, "Because you're going to need to find better weapons in the level, the pistol isn't enough to kill most bosses."

It actually gets harder if you do not add anything on the map. The goal is to defeat the boss and for every card who drops the boss battle gets harder because it will take higher amount of loops and every encounter increases your xp and loot. The loot who drops turns into resources used in camp

Spiders have no soul and can not create ghosts created from battlefield and vampire mansion is able to upgrade loot drop from quests in village which can with the spiders be used to increase the reward for killing the spiders

Some resources you need to gather require certain fights. For instance for one resource, you need to kill 5 enemies in one battle. This generally requires a vampire to join the fight.

This game is kinda annoying in the way that if you find a good combo, you'll probably kill your hero in the process if you didn't time it right. :adom_puppy:

the game is a race against time, objectively you want to fight the boss in any particular act as quickly as possible. Your character scales slower than the enemies do, bosses especially. So the more enemies you can fill your board with that means the quicker you'll generate more cards to both spawn the boss faster and also land cards help scale your hero also. But it's a balance, you can definitely kill yourself by making the board too hard to handle. You just have to get a feel for how much you can handle, and it will change every run depending on how good your gear is for any particular loop.
