Not exactly. Remember what it actually says. "Raises the chance of finding a rare item by 10%".
There's 2 ways this could get calculated. It could be like you're thinking. Let's say the Chance of getting a rare Orange item from something is default 10%. Could be:
Default chance of 10% + Jeweler's Lens 10% = 20% total Chance.
There's another possibility. Let's say again, the Chance of getting a rare Orange Item from something is default 10%. By adding 1 Jeweler's Lens, we raise the "Chance", which is 10% BY 10%. Meaning the total Chance now stands at 11%.
Formula:
(Default Chance 10% + ( 1 Jeweler's Lens @10% of (Default Chance 10%)) = Total Chance.
(Default Chance 10% + (1%))= Total Chance = 11% Total Chance of finding Orb with 1 Jeweler's Lens equipped in your Camp Inventory.
Either way it's an increase. And it will help. I just don't know how the calculations are done. Continuing on, if we equip 10 Jeweler's Lens this time, the formula looks like this:
(Default 10% + ((10 Jeweler's Lens @ 10%) of Default 10%) = Total Chance
(Default 10% + ((100%) of Default 10%) = Total Chance
(Default 10% + 10% = 20% Total Chance of finding Orange Item with 10 Jeweler's Lens equipped in your Camp Inventory.
I could just be very wrong. But it was a bit fun working out the math anyway :P Either way, it's an increase and it helps. Just don't expect foolproof results. Hardly anything in this game can be guaranteed 100%.
But I thought those lenses increase chance of finding furniture, food, tool, jew-ry items, not weapons/armor?
but yeah i do also think it's about resource and supply items
otherwise it will be too op,and lost meaning to spawn high risk monster
might be random but it seems to be getting lot of supp. nothing else seems changed.
