Loop Hero
Why do wheat fields exist?
Their effect is basically worthless, and if you have them in your deck they just flood your hand with unusable cards. Might be useful with a bookery, but other than that they just seem pointless and more of a hindrance than a help

They spawn Scarecrows so the fields function both as a method to increase your healing AND resource/xp gain. If you oblivion the Village you get Overgrown Fields which can produce a ton of gains which compound with certain items/builds.
I build them for the scarecrows, they're an easy way to get a manageable fight because they delete an enemy on later chapters. The HP on the side is a bonus.

If I'm more confident, the overgrown fields are lots of enemies.

You can also get Overgrown Fields by placing a Wheatfield next to a "Village?" tile.

I think it's by putting wheat fields next to a village then a vampire mansion next to the village as well.

This will turn the village into a ransacked village with ghouls in it, if I remember correctly.
But after 3 loops of ransacked village the village turns into an even more profitable village with better quests.

I'm not sure if the fields become overgrown as soon as it hits ransacked or if it's after the 3 loops th.

Just something I saw online haven't tested this out for myself yet.

He was talking about the "village?" that occurs when you place 10 forest/thicket tiles, which does in fact create overgrown fields.
seems to be filler for the first two chapters until you unlock better cards
Each battle won give food and scarecraw can give food too. That can also be a way remove living armor. But you may lose some reduction damage stacks in the process. Overgrown field are even better to farm food.
You can farm some ressources by having a camp item (scythe) while walking over the field.
That is one of the four items I never got. I think it is a tool. I may try to build some tools to see if I get lucky.
