Ok I stop joking...
Serioulsy I don't think alchemy was plan to recycle hundred of items. You should create farming expedition to get specific resource and use alchemy for just a few of them. So if used for only a few dozen, it is not that bad. Of course some ressource are very difficult to farm and farming easy ressource and use alchemy look more appealing.
May be...
This is true for the early game.
But say this after completing the story, if you want to continue playing in "post game", experementing with classes and builds, or, may be, reach high loops as well, where you will bring up to 1k different resources to the camp and want to exchange them for Metamorphoses to craft supplies to strengthen the hero, or just have more variety for experimentation.
I'm currently spending time clicking over 200-300 times on a single resource for make more Hydrogen to convert to Metamorphosis to craft random supplies to get what I want to have for my experements, and just trying new stuff to have some "post game" fun.
Sorry, I cant laugh about this joke. Too many people really think and argue this way in order to justify bad game mechanics.
Thanks for making fun of this nonsense ;)

And yes I wanted a lot of resources to experiment builds for each class (I like warrior and rouge, necro not so much :/ )
Yah I tried this andstill the game wont respond to auto-clicker for some reason.
Just tried and it worked.
Try this:
1. Use Alt+Enter to switch the gme to window mode (or use game options)
2. Run OP Auto Clicker, use all default settings (left, single, repeat until stopped, current location)
3. In game - open Alchemist, select the resource, hover the button you want to spam (Decompose or Synthesize) and press F6.
4. Press F6 to stop
Updated: It works in full-screen mode as well.
Hope it helps.
