I do have the same issue... wanted to continue, but the game simply didn't load the save. XD What the heck?

When I click on load it just throws me back to main menu (without the do you want to load the save?)... when I then click on load and try to load the save game it stays in the load save menu... and does not continue... so pretty similar... will test if my saves will go haywire like yours did.
Thank you for the reports. Can you please confirm that you are not playing using a save inherited from beta/demo?

Nope. It's a save I created during the first mission of the game. I didn't import a beta or demo save.
Can you please check these points?

- Make sure that you have enough disk space
- Make sure that the game has write access to save file location. You may be lacking them because of specific security settings. Save folder can be found under following folder (note that AppData is set as Hidden):
<your user folder>\AppData\LocalLow\Ice Code Games\HardWest2

Sorry to hear about this. We're collecting logs so we can identify and solve the issue. Would you be willing to share your player/log file? It's in <your user folder>\AppData\LocalLow\Ice Code Games\HardWest2. The best way to share that is to DM any GSE person in Discord here: https://discord.gg/hardwest2

We are hearing that this solution solves the crash issue. Please MAKE A COPY of your save file before giving it a try. Huge thanks to B3N1THUND3R for finding this. We are working on fixing the issue but if you can't please this might help:

1. Uninstall the game,
2. Clear the registry from all entries that use phrases “Ice Code Games” and “HardWest2”.
(To do so you can use Windows Registry Editor)
3. Press windows key and type reg
4. Press enter
5. Press Ctrl+f, Type Ice Code Games, press enter
6. Press delete, press F3 - do it until there is nothing left
7. Press Ctrl+f, Type HardWest2, press enter
8. Press delete, press F3 - do it until there is nothing left
9. Re-install the game

it is VERY important to delete EVERYTHING until you get a message after pressing F3 that there isn't anything with either "Ice Code Games" or "HardWest2"

I managed to track down the issue a little bit. On my PC I can load the game without any problem (it says continue). On my notebook which downloaded the Save from the Steam cloud I could only click on load. I guess that the upload / download is not working correctly.
My save was within the first mission, and it only uploaded some data, like the auto tactical data, without the actual save files. I only had the json files in my folder.
So I continued on my PC and then let the game upload the save file to the cloud again.
My laptop then downloaded all the necessary files from the cloud and I was able to continue on my laptop.

So I assume there may be some kind of problem with uploading / downloading saves to/from the cloud. Or at least there was, when Steam uploaded the save to the cloud (and it didn't tell me there was a problem, so I assumed everything went fine).
