A nice sequel to the occult western original, with new mechanics and ideas. The bravado system (full action point refund on kills) and the lack of overwatch makes for an aggressive play, and turns many combat scenarios into a puzzle game, where one mistake can be fatal. Character traits unlocked by hands formed by the accumulated cards is another fun addition. Finally, you can save literally anywhere and anytime, plus the game provides several auto save and quick save slots. It's crazy that such a basic feature is to be praised these days.

One of the mistakes I often run into with games like this is that I tend to strive for "no injury" play. Funny thing is the tutorial puts you in a position where this cannot be achieved. And you really shouldn't want to waste time for it, except in those combat scenarios, where the secondary goal is to finish it in 1 turn. The reason is you can heal the whole party for $20 after battles, and there's a ton of money in the game.

I've finished the game on Nightmare+, which was a good, honest challenge. On Easy it's probably a walk in the park and a chilling experience, so I recommend it to anyone who likes turn-based tactics.
