High Ping
Anyone know what's wrong? My ping suddenly started spiking these last couple days. Before joining a match it even shows that I have a really low ping, but once I join it's usually around 70-80. Then it'll randomly spike up to 200 multiple times throughout the match. My ping is perfectly fine in every other game I play.

Also this might be related, but when I check it says I'm connected to Virginia, but I've noticed that there's a lot of people in my games speaking Spanish. Do you think its connecting me to a server in South America or something once I join a match, and that's why my ping is so high?

I'll explain how server matching works.

The game put's you into your region. Let's say ASIA as an example.

There's 4 server nodes in Asia. Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore. You are able to select your preferred server by default but IF the server you chose lack players, you'll be queued to the other 3 NODES in that region under ASIA so you'll get high ping than usual.

You cannot choose what server you'll get picked entirely. You're stuck with this nodes under your region this means you'll have to play even up to 150+ ms. Use Gaming VPN if you have to.

Since your region is AMERICA that's NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA included. This goes the same for EUROPE with Germany/Russia/UK etc..

You said spike though as in 80-100 IN a match so this is mostly a connection issue. Enable Server Refresh Rate & Packet Loss Rate to figure out if you have any connection issue to any of the server that's causing this hiccups.

Settings > Screen > Server Refresh Rate & Packet Loss Rate = ON
