how i disselect character?

you know when you start a match you pick a character and realize its not a good map for sniper character and want to change but its locked? ive tried pressing esc,H,etc doesnt work

I think you can't.

I smashed my keyboard trying to deselect it.

Once you select a character and hit "SELECT" button you're permanently locked onto it.
