I remember, in the last open beta I earned tokens just by playing. But currently I earned nothing ? Is it that normal?

That's what I thought, too.. But upon playing a few matches and receiving none, it came to me that the dream tokens are earned strictly by leveling up your account.

Play matches -> Gain XP (possibly bonus XP by completing the daily / weekly challenges) -> Progress towards a higher level account -> Earn currency by getting to the higher level.

You gain currency from the bp (gold currency), you can get the regular currency from level up. And right now there's also the event where you can gain a character of your choosing from daily login day 2.

And there is another event where you open 3 boxes max a day for idk how long. The content of the box contains the currency (not gold) to buy char.

Dream Tokens, you get these by playing and leveling up, after lvl 30 you just get them infinite amount after every lvl you earn 300 tokens. You have to claim them from your account level on the top left in home menu.
