What's the difference between challange and ranked?

Challenges gives rewards like emotes per tiers while Rank gives a rank reward skin when you reach Proton Rank that is unobtainable in any other seasons. They're both FOMO.

Challenge matches you with players of close or similar playtime. Except new accounts where they are forced to fight bots

Ranked matches you with players at the same skill range. Except when your substance rank and qualifying, substance rank and qualifying accounts are in the same queue.

Ranked: Real players. Higher ELO you go the longer the queues. I have half hour queues, sometimes more on time of day.

guess i'll just stay in challenge mode then, queuing ranked takes too long anyway. also i have bad experience when i first play ranked, the team is toxic toward me because i am unranked and blaming me for losing.

ranked is where you bring your 'A' game. Anything less and you will get rolled over
