What if Strinova buff swords like the good old days?
A long time ago, in the cretaceous period, our ancestors fought with guns and swords. Unlike GunZ 1 where knowledge of animation canceling with swords was crucial, there is another game in a bygone era where sword and guns remained the ideal weapons without the crucial animation canceling tricks of GunZ 1, melee weapons design of S4League.

The funny thing is you are using allot of animation canceling inbetween even if the katana keeps you hardlocked in animations, but yeah. S4 league was a fun game.

Compared to GunZ 1, I dont think you can quad-butterfly-dash-reload-slash-shot-insta-backflip in S4League. The melee weapons there are also more diverse, where in GunZ 1 you either use a Katana or lose. In terms of making melee characters or weapons maybe Strinova can copy S4League.

Unfortunately both of those 2 old games are PAY2WIN.

I already find swords in this game to be borderline broken so the last thing I want is a buff.

We got only 1.
We need more melee options.
Personally I would like to see Reiichi's Umbrella being an actual weapon.
...Or somehow Lawine's pulse blade doing some damage if thrown like an actual throwing knife because I played Titanfall 2 that has literally the same thing but with a smaller reveal radius and it can insta kill if it hits someone.

Nah, melee have to be the last resource. We don't want insta kills with melee attacks.
I was talking about Titanfall 2's pulse blade compared to Lawine from Strinova's pulse blade.
Just wanted to clarify.

Also right clicking with the sword does double or in this case 90 damage.
Which isn't a lot but it's actually neat against enemies at below 70-86'ish health accounting for armor regen or not.
I played other games with melees that insta killed before and believe me.
Being sent flying by a giant hammer ain't fun and being sliced by a cool looking energy swords isn't either.

It was pay2win that doomed those games.

In S4, Imagine being able to deploy 2 turrets that has the 4x the damage of Michele's Mighty Meow. Imagine having Scarlet Witch weapon but it's ttk is just 2-3 secs for enemies without premium armor.

Free2play players can do 3 dodge & wall jumps, a premium player can minmax their gear to have more stamina so that they are able to do 4. Now this is even more important because the high skill level of S4 is making combo wall jumps, only premium players that min max stamina can do the most complex combo jumps.

S4's main mode is football(american)/rugby with guns and swords, having more stamina allows a premium midfielder to dash longer to score goals.

In GunZ 1 other than premium equipment dealing more damage, and having more health and armor. Premium consumable buffs that grant your sword status effect like flaming, slow, jolting effects.

Hmm you should wave dash --> into air hugging ---> into shield canceling with revolver/shotgun --> into basic sword slashing/dahing/stunning. I mean ... it got pretty far out there to be honest if you where any good at the game and used all these mechnics. It wasnt as mental as guns1 but it certain was a game where animation cancelling was very much part of the basic playstyle.

That wouldnt matter because Premium Sentry Turret and Premium Mindshock are auto aim kill you in 2 seconds if you dont have premium armor.
