Bring back single-shot mode?
I have mained eika since global launch and loved using the slugs(sinlge-shot mode) on her. Due to the recent update though, slugs have been replaced with increase fire rate
I havent gotten a reason as to why in the patch notes and was wondering if there was a specific reason to the change?
one reason I've heard of was that it was underused, but now I feel like effective range serves no purpose over Stringified damage(and may become an upgrade no one uses), as any engagement at 20m you'll lose as the dps of her gun at that range is terrible
with slugs it did impact it slightly, but i still ran Stringified damage
additionally i dont see much reason to run increase bullets over the increase fire rate
just plugging the numbers into a calculator i saw that unless you landed all 10 pellets you would deal less damage, assuming all pellets were body shots
so i would be fine with having slugs come back and replace either increased bullets or effective range
i quite enjoyed the change in gameplay the slugs brought and with them gone i dont really run effective range or increased bullets as to me they serve little purpose

That's the upgrade I often used so I noticed it immediately. Would prefer to have it back. It's like a whole mechanic of the character is missing.

yeah, now i dont ever run increase bullets, i used to get it as one of the last upgrades if i wasnt running slugs but now i just get fire rate
I like single shot mode on Bai Mo because he became the funny green haired cowboy with a lever action rifle that can 2 shot you anywhere if they know how to do gun magic.

Now I can never have my dreams of being an annoying scout with a dumb sniper shotgun rifle.

Seriously the Idea of a duelist shotgunner becoming a hybrid rifleman sounds fun.
It's not good. But there's a nuance for getting good with something bad. Because it's all laughs till the joke is actually a threat.
Eika is op even without that ♥♥♥♥ with her overbloated magazine. And the point of the game is that each character is associated with only 1 type of main gun. Slug upgrade basically turns a shotgun into a dmr, making enemies guess how to engage you. This is not fair. Glad it was removed and Baimo nerfed as well. Learn to get to close range if you play shotgun.
i agree i wish they would have done her the same way they did the 3 burst for celestia

I like running both slugs and buckshot and usually pick one depending on the situation/map
its the removal of an entire play style without any explanation i take issue with
it takes away options from the player of which im not a fan of
also it only takes one shot and a call out for a team to know what you're running that round

I kinda disagree with that as picking slugs over buckshot was a trade off of close range power and easier time hitting Stringified opponents, for long range capabilities
i feel like being able to swap on the fly would be too much for Eika and Bai Mo
but it is an interesting concept
I tend to pick more pellets with the reasoning it would increase effective range. (I.e. if they spread, the more I have the more still hit). Fire rate is probably the obvious choice if you know the map allows for sneaking near enemies every duel.

I mean that's the problem don't you see it? For one click of your mouse the enemy must do the hell of a cooperation just to counter you. And next round you can swtich again. Like wtf. Variety sure, I'm all for alternative guns for all agents, but not for character-exclusive ♥♥♥♥ like this.

thing is picking increase bullets leads to less consistent damage from what i've found
assuming all pellets hit the chest, base damage(using eika's weapon) 7 per pellet, with 8 in total, meaning if all hit the chest the damage is 56
now running the increase bullets upgrade it lowers the damage of each pellet to 6, but gives you 10, assuming 9 pellets hit the target's chest the total damage is 54, meaning that if you miss a single pellet you will deal less damage
this isnt factoring in rng or a few hitting a head but to me this is a deal breaker because base fire rate increase will always increase dps, but not increase pellets
btw the damage per pellets is as follows
base: 10 20 30(meters)
head 8 6 4
chest 7 4 3
legs 4 3 2
increase bullets:
head 7 5 3
chest 6 4 3
legs 4 2 2
so as i see it base rate of fire is the way to go
but im happy to hear more of your thoughts

thing is we never got a reason for its removal, so i dont know why they took it out
this is anecdotal but whenever i type in chat that i missed them, most people say something along the lines of "you actually used them" i havent gotten a response that stated that they were broken
so until there is an offical reason i will just hope that one day they get added back

I can't believe they just removed single-shot. I've been practicing it on Eika for so long and I love how heavy it is. It's like maddelena but with a melee ability, and now they've completely removed it???
