The damage in that thing is extremely small. . .
took like 6 swings to kill one dude ingame . . it is a useless garbo weapon, that little default machine gun thingy as the secondary works better from what experienced, like why even have a crappy katana that doesnt do jack for damage, waiting for someone to have like reallyyy low HP, yeah no waste of a slot, since most the time youll just be far,

I find sword to be the best second weapon, if you are shoting with ppl long/mid range you will just reload your main gun anyway and at close range sword has high damage and turning paper won't save you.

Its a secondary. Its meant for you to switch to when you run out of ammo and dont want to reload. Its a quick attack for close encounters with no ammo. Play better i guess. If I can get kills after taking out their shield then so can you.

It's honestly really good, might need a damage buff, but it serves as a good way to get people unstuck from walls. Also just good for when you have no ammo in close combat. It's a counter to the paper mechanic

It needs a damage buff for sure. Right now its pointless to take it over a second ranged weapon. If not of a damage buff it should give a slight gap closer to at least act as a cool finisher.

By the gathered replies here, I'm assuming that the sword does only work well against enemies without shields; So, the moment they still have shields, the melee isn't gonna pierce through it and will only scratch them instead of dealing damage as expected to.

.. Kinda reminds me of the other secondaries, the „Desert Eagle“ one, which can deal by ~70 per a headshot from up close, but that's assuming there are no shields; With shields, it will be nearly halved, at about ~40, and given its recoil.. It's not really all that good in those situations, unless the enemy allows for it by providing the time for you to re-peek with a good timing.

I've seen a few people rocking the melee, mostly getting that close range kill aswell, but only in the casual game modes like Escort and Team Deathmatch.. Never have I seen that in the Demolition and Team Deathmatch to happen.

You can right click their profile and even talk in chat. There's even a REPLAY system in-game for you to verify if there's bots.

What's your verification method of seeing people as bots? Like how other players say its bots because they're aim bot because they aim better than you?

How is it even a bot match if the player I've killed insults me back for killing them with swords? You're the one to talk as if you know the game any better when it's the opposite.

You don't know how the swords work, how to identify real players from bots and many more. I've been shouting BANZAI the whole time in chat while wielding the sword and what bots doesn't have are FEELINGS. Torturing a player is a different experience than a bot would. They scream and rage. Your argument is invalid.

First 5-10 matches in game is guaranteed to be a all low level bot lobby
If you check someone's profile and it's made in 2023 its a bot
Bots don't run from fights
Bots don't talk in chat at all but can ping the map
Bots can 'see' and track enemies through walls with no hint
Bots's aim will increase in accuracy as your kd gets higher
Bots can actually use sword

Sword does 45 damage and 90 damage on heavy attack(right click), no matter the shield etc, while it does bonus damage against 2D enemy instead of less

Sword has a 'close in' attack if your mouse is aimed directly at a target and you are beyond the range of normal attack, your character will dash forward and do a upward slash

Not being able to tell bots from players and just say people who see bots are 'bad' is so many levels of ███████
