is there any idea as to what number this ping cutoff may be set too?
what is the point?
please allow us to play accross servers
However in December 20 update, they will be implementing a soft work around. One can party up with other players from other regions, provided they can pass a certain ping latency threshold according to devs pinned announcement.
I notice people with foreign accents over the mic, now, and 200 pings, too. Maybe they are just far away from the servers in the US, but after you noticed it, too, maybe they are using VPNS to get around, as gamers often do.
Now, the gameplay feels like playing against pros and streamers, lol. It's not as fun for me. However, Region lock makes sense because you will get global people flooding local servers, then the servers might get overwhelmed, too.
On top of that, I am unsure how many cheaters are on this game, but allowing global access would increase the odds of getting them in your local area. I heard about the softlock, but I think it's about people with pings below a certain number. Not sure what that number is.
In all honesty, I don't think the game would be fun with players of ~200+ ping in lobbies.. Especially if they lock-in Kokona, Kanami, and those high-risk high-reward types of agents, who do rely on the feedback more than anybody else.
