in rating mode, the best ping in the available regions will be checked and the better region will be set automatically, ignoring the one that you set in the settings.
In that case, it will make at least some sense.
it all depends on the conscience of the developers
So if there's 2+ Smartasses that VPN their way somewhere where they should absolutely never be no matter what - it'll stop them.
But if one guy is 100% confirmed living in the region A then his friend playing with him is ok.
+ping lock of course is a must
If this doesn't satisfy someone - most likely the guy in question has a hidden agenda and want to utilize region switch to exploit something.
They were silencing *you*, specifically, for inciting drama and being annoying.
People have played and will play in any region they need.
the only question is whether this will be officially available, or whether it will require third-party software intervention (easier to say modifications).
Based on the latter, that's why people say that blocking regions is a stupid decision, and that the game will die soon.
As for "Those who want already can" you can say this about anything. Literally. Its about the fact that its HARDER to do. Its HARDER to find a turd-connection idiot who thinks he shouldn't stay where he belongs and comes to other servers.
Stay. Behind. "The Wall".
(Nothing will die soon) is a controversial answer, a matter of time, first of all it depends on the decision made by the developers regarding this topic.
By the way, this topic is discussed not only here, there are really a lot of people who are against blocking, so the decision of the developers will greatly affect the continued existence of this game
I understand that this is a weeb game and weebs can't have irl friends from own region but I'm not like that so I can't understand why "Co-op casuals" are more important than Tryhards that feel even 0.01 sec difference.
This game's connectivity so far proved to be extraordinary good. I personally experienced several "mutual kills" where I killed the opponent and opponent killed me simultaneously. This literally NEVER happens in CS:GO or Valorant. I don't wish to lose this level of bullet registration for a couple of basement dwellers.
